Police investigating after car hits parked car, flips, then catches fire - St Johns Park

Three men have escaped serious injury after their vehicle crashed and caught fire in Sydney's south west earlier this morning.

Just after 5am (Sunday 24 November 2019), police and emergency services responded to reports of a crash on Brisbane Road, St Johns Park.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command have been told a Jeep Cherokee crashed into a parked vehicle and flipped onto its side before hitting a power pole and catching on fire.

Local residents rendered assistance and extracted the three male occupants of the Jeep through the sunroof before the fire was extinguished.

NSW Ambulance paramedics took the 21-year-old driver to Liverpool Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while his passengers were treated at the scene.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are appealing for anyone who may have dash-cam of the Jeep around the time of the incident to come forward.
