Police investigating arson at Townsville

Police have charged a 51-year-old man following a house fire that occurred in Gulliver last night, February 4.

Shortly before 8.30pm, emergency services responded to reports a fire had started on a property along Bailey Street.

Upon arrival, a man was observed leaving the scene. Police arrested him nearby.

The 51-year-old Condon man has been charged with one count of arson.

He is expected to appear at Townsville Magistrate Court today, Monday February 5.

No one was injured as a result of the fire.
