Police are at the scene of an isolated incident at a residence in Humphrey Street, New Norfolk.
A man has been transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital with what is reported to be a gunshot wound.
A woman, known to the man, has been arrested at the scene.
Police have located the firearm allegedly involved in the incident.
Police reassure the community this was as isolated incident, between people known to each other, and there is no threat to the wider community.
