Police investigating firearms incident at Waverley

Police are calling for information following a firearms incident at Waverley last night.

Police attended a Waverley residence about 8.50pm after reports of a firearm being discharged.

Offenders have fired three rounds at the house with two of them penetrating through the top of the windows into rooms that were occupied at the time.

No one was injured during the incident and initial investigations have revealed the residence was specifically targeted.

Police are particularly interested in any sighting of a white single cab flat tray utility in the area at the time.

Police urge anyone with information in relation to any firearm incident to come forward. Information can be provided to Tasmania Police 131 444 or to Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
