Police investigating hit and run, Chuwar

Police are investigating a hit and run traffic incident that left a 16-year-old male seriously injured on Monday, September 19 in Chuwar.

Initial investigations indicate around 7.40pm, a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old female were walking south in the southbound lane of Kholo Road, approximately 100m south of Blackwall Road, when a vehicle travelling northbound negotiated a left curve and struck the male.

The driver continued north on Kholo Road and failed to remain on scene.

The vehicle is described as a dark Holden Cruze sedan with one headlight.

The boy was transported from the scene and remains in a serious but stable condition.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses, especially those with dashcam vision of the incident or the moments leading up to it to come forward, including anyone with information on the vehicle or its driver. Anonymous reports can be made.
