Police are currently on scene at a double fatality in the Sydney CBD.
About 9.45am today (Saturday 16 August 2025), emergency services responded to reports that two people had fallen from the Western Distributor onto Harbour Street, Sydney.
Both persons – a man and a woman believed to be aged in their 40's – died prior to the arrival of emergency services.
Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command have established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Two south bounds lanes from the Sydney Harbour Bridge are currently closed and traffic is being diverted to the Anzac Bridge. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
Police are urging anyone with information about the matter – or was in the area at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage – to contact Day Street Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
