Police investigating over online threats to school student at Goulburn

An investigation is underway after threats were made towards a student at a high school in Goulburn earlier today.

Shortly after 10am (Thursday 18 February 2021), police were called to a school on McDermott Drive, Goulburn, following reports of a threat made towards a student via social media.

Officers from The Hume Police District attended and commenced inquiries. The school was placed into lockdown as a precaution. That lockdown has since been lifted.

Following inquiries, a 20-year-old man was arrested at a home in Goulburn a short time later, and taken to Goulburn Police Station.

He was released pending further inquiries.

There is no further information to suggest any threat was going to be carried out towards a student at the school.
