Police investigating shooting incident at Booral

Maryborough detectives are investigating after a man was injured at Booral overnight.

Police and emergency services were called to a residence on Booral Road just after midnight where they located a 47-year-old local man with an apparent gun-shot wound.

Preliminary investigations indicate two men attended the property, approached the man and a verbal altercation ensued. The man was then shot once in the back.

The pair fled in a vehicle they stole from the property, which was subsequently located around 7.30am today at Kawungan on Doolong South Road.

The man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No one else at the property was injured.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing with Maryborough detectives appealing for anyone with information to contact police.

One of the men was wearing light coloured clothing, the second man was wearing dark coloured pants, a light coloured shirt and is around 175cm tall.
