Police investigating wounding at Oxenford

Police have charged a man following an alleged incident in a sports ground on Leo Graham Way, Oxenford yesterday evening (February 8).

Police will allege at about 8pm a 42-year-old man and a 60-year-old man, who are known to each other, were having a conversation that developed into a physical altercation during which the 42-year-old sustained several cuts to his arms and neck.

The 60-year-old man allegedly fled in a vehicle and was apprehended a short time later in Upper Coomera.

The 42-year-old was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 60-year-old was charged with unlawful wounding and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on March 2.

Investigators urge anyone with information relevant to this investigation or dash-cam footage from the area to contact police.
