Police Investigating Wounding Incident At Riverview

Police have arrested a 27-year-old man following a wounding incident at Riverview this morning, 19 March.

Emergency services were initially called to Caroline Street around 9:30am following reports of a woman sustaining a stab wound.

Officers arrived on scene a short time later and located a 26-year-old Holland Park West woman with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and she was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

The 27-year-old Riverview man was located nearby and was taken into custody, and two crime scenes were declared on Caroline Street and a vehicle.

Initial investigations into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing; however, officers believe the two people are known to each other and there is no threat to the public at this time.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have any relevant information, or CCTV/dashcam footage that could assist them to come forward.
