Police investigating wounding incident in Claremont

Police are investigating a reported wounding outside a petrol station on Main Road, Claremont this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 10:20am, following a disturbance between a man and another group of people.

A man in his 20s was reportedly wounded by a 41-year-old man following a verbal altercation. His injuries were not life threatening but he was taken to hospital for assessment.

Police arrested the 41-year-old man a short time later at a nearby business premises. He remains in custody.
