Investigations are underway into a police-involved shooting incident in Thuringowa Central, Townsville this afternoon, 27 July.
Initial investigations indicate that at approximately 3.16pm, there were reports of a wanted man in his 20s along Carthew Street.
Police were on scene shortly after and an officer discharged a firearm.
Medical assistance was immediately provided to the man by police and he was taken to Townsville University Hospital by Queensland Ambulance Service.
There is no ongoing threat to the public.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with information, dashcam footage, or may have seen anything in the area around Carthew Street to contact police.
The matter is being investigated by the Ethical Standards Command, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission.
