Police Involved Shooting, Logan Central

A man has been shot by police following an incident at Logan Central this evening, March 21.

Officers were initially called to Ewing Road, near Carmody Street, following reports of an armed man with a knife making threats.

Upon arrival, officers attempted to engage with the man before he approached them with the weapon, and he was subsequently shot by police.

Officers immediately provided first aid to the man before he was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

No police officers or members of the public were injured during the incident.

A crime scene has been declared, and there is no ongoing risk to public safety.

The matter is being investigated by the Ethical Standards Command, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission.

Investigations are ongoing.
