Police launch investigation into attempted robbery, assault at Albury

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted during an attempted robbery in Albury overnight.

About 8.20pm (Wednesday 17 March 2021), an 18-year-old man was walking along Douglas Road, Lavington, when he was approached by two unknown men.

Police have been told the men punched the man in the face, before demanding cash and attempting to grab his mobile phone from his pocket.

The man continued to be kicked and threatened, before the two pair fled on foot, empty-handed, towards Kemp Street.

The man sustained soreness to his jaw and leg, and was assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics. He did not require further medical treatment.

Police were notified and officers from Murray River Police District commenced inquiries.

The unknown men are only described as wearing dark hooded jumpers.
