Police lay armed robbery charge at Moura

Biloela detectives have charged a man with armed robbery, and are looking for a second, after a man was allegedly assaulted during the break-in of a Moura home on March 17.

Police will allege that at around 9.30pm on Thursday, March 17 two men, one armed with a knife and the a metal bar, forced their way into a Nott Street home.

They confronted a 25-year-old man, assaulting and threatening him, before stealing cash whilst conducting a search of the house and damaging property.

The pair fled on foot.

The 25-year-old sustained facial bruising and superficial cuts from the assault and was transported to Moura Hospital for treatment.

Detectives yesterday arrested a 26-year-old Woorabinda man charging him with one count each of armed robbery in company using personal violence, enter with intent at night and in company, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed and in company, wilful damage and obstruct police. He was denied police bail and is due to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on March 19.

Investigations are on-going.
