Police Lay Armed Robbery Charges At Brisbane

A man has been charged following an investigation into an armed robbery in Brisbane this morning, 8 July.

Around 1.20am, a 30-year-old Sunnybank Hills man was parked outside a business address on Latrobe Street when he was allegedly approached by a man.

Police will allege the man threatened the driver with a knife, forcing him to enter the passenger seat of the car, a silver Toyota Camry sedan.

The owner of the Toyota was allegedly then driven to Raymond Terrace in South Brisbane before being let out of the vehicle.

Officers located the car at an address in New Farm a short time later and arrested the man.

The owner of the Toyota did not sustain any physical injuries.

A 23-year-old Kingston man has been charged with one count each of unlawful entry of a vehicle for committing indictable offence at night whilst armed, kidnapping, armed robbery and unlawful use of motor vehicles at night to use actual violence.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on 9 July.
