Police Lay Armed Robbery Charges At Gold Coast 22 February

Police have arrested and charged a man following an alleged armed robbery and assault that occurred in Biggera Waters last night, February 21.

It will be alleged at approximately 5.20pm, the man attended a business along Brisbane Road where he assaulted a staff member and stole a quantity of tools.

The staff member, a 57-year-old man, sustained non-life threatening injuries and attended hospital for treatment.

A short time later, Polair observed a Toyota Corolla travelling towards Pimpama.

Police attended a unit complex shortly after 6pm where they took the man into custody without incident.

A knife was seized from the vehicle.

A 27-year-old Pimpama man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm, stealing, fraud, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is expected to appear at Southport Magistrates Court today, February 22.
