Police lay armed robbery charges at Thorneside

Police have charged an 18-year-old Ormiston man following an alleged armed robbery at Thorneside on Thursday, November 16.

Emergency services were called to the Esplanade near Railway Parade at approximately 10.30pm to reports three people had been assaulted and robbed while inside their parked vehicle.

Upon arrival, a 17-year-old Thorneside boy, a 17-year-old Birkdale boy and an 18-year-old Capalaba man were located with facial wounds.

All three were transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Following extensive investigations, police located the 18-year-old Ormiston man at a Chermside property yesterday, November 20.

He was taken into police custody and charged with three counts of assaults occasioning bodily harm, and one count each of armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, unlawful entry of vehicle and possess tainted property.

He is due to appear at Cleveland Magistrates Court today, November 21.

It is believed the men are known to eachother.

Investigations are continuing.
