Police Lay Assault Charges At Jacobs Well

Police have charged two men following an alleged assault in Jacobs Well last night, 8 August.

It will be alleged two men attempted to break into a Toyota Landcruiser at a Kumgum Street address around 8.30pm, when a confrontation occurred between the two men and the vehicle owner.

Prior to police arrival, the alleged offenders left the scene on foot.

Following police patrols of the area, officers from Coomera and Pimpama station took two men into custody at the Jacobs Well boat ramp.

A 27-year-old Jacobs Well man was charged with unlawful entry of a vehicle, and common assault. He is expected to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on 21 August.

A 25-year-old Evans Head man was charged with common assault. He is expected to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on 21 August.

Investigations are ongoing.
