Police lay charges after fatal collision in Lancaster

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision in Lancaster last night.

It is understood two vehicles collided at the intersection of Lancaster and Dunbar roads about 10.35pm on Friday, 20 January.

The driver of one of the vehicles, a 69-year-old Shepparton man, died at the scene.

The passenger, an 18-year-old man, was airlifted to hospital where he remains with serious injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, an 18-year-old man, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with dangerous driving causing death.

He has been bailed to appear in Echuca Magistrates' Court on 24 January.
