Police lay charges after fatal crash - Edmondson Park

Investigators have charged a man following a fatal two-vehicle crash in Sydney's south-west yesterday.

About 12pm (Saturday 9 May 2020), emergency services were called to Soldiers Parade, outside Edmondson Park Railway Station, following a crash between a motorcycle and a Toyota Camry.

Despite attempts to revive him, the motorcycle rider, a 24-year-old man, died at the scene.

The driver, a 37-year-old man, was taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, officers arrested the 37-year-old man before he was taken to Liverpool Police Station.

He was charged with negligent driving occasioning death, and not give way at lights to oncoming vehicle (right turn).

The Edmondson Park man was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Monday 13 July 2020.

Investigations are continuing.
