Police lay charges after high school stabbing at Parramatta

A teenage boy has now been charged following a stabbing at a high school in Sydney's west yesterday.

Police will allege in court that, about 8.30am (Monday 23 November 2020), a 14-year-old student at a high school on Macquarie Street, Parramatta, suffered stab wounds to his back and arm.

He was taken to The Children's Hospital at Westmead where he remains in a stable condition.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

About 8pm yesterday (Monday 23 November 2020), a 14-year-old boy presented to a police station where he was arrested.

He was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail and will appear in a children's court today.
