Police lay charges after two children hospitalised for suspected drug overdose - Bidwill

A woman will appear in court today after two children were taken to hospital for suspected drug overdoses in Bidwill earlier this year.

About 3.35pm (Thursday 8 August 2019), emergency services were called to a home at Bidwill, where they located two unresponsive girls, aged one and three.

The girls were taken to the Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick in a serious condition.

On Friday 9 August 2019, the children were transferred to Mount Druitt Hospital and have since been released.

Officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

On Friday 6 September 2019, a 26-year-old woman attended Mt Druitt Police Station where she was arrested and charged.

The Bidwill woman was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for the following offences abandon/expose child under 7 cause danger of death, and neglect child or young person in her care.

She is due to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court today (Wednesday 6 November 2019).

A child-at-risk notification form was completed.
