Police lay charges - Aggravated robbery in Darwin City 11 August

Northern Territory Police have charged a man in relation to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Darwin City last night.

At around 2:45am, a 26-year-old male allegedly assaulted a 35-year-old female on the corner of Knuckey Street and The Esplanade before stealing her mobile phone.

The male was arrested shortly after and has been charged by Serious Crime detectives with:

  • 1 x Aggravated robbery

He was remanded to face Darwin Local Court at a later date.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said, "Police arrested the alleged offender shortly after the incident. Police would like to thank the quick actions from members of the public, which assisted in the arrest. Any members of the public who witnessed the incident are urged to make contact with police on 131 444. Please quote reference 9761182."
