Police lay charges - Assault - Alawa

Northern Territory Police have charged a 15-year-old female with assault after three separate incidents that occurred in Alawa earlier this morning.

Between 6.15am and 7am, the female allegedly called three taxi's to the area, brandishing an edged weapon and demanding money.

She then allegedly struck the driver's side window of one of the taxi's with the weapon. The drivers all fled in their vehicles and called police.

Police attended and the female was arrested. She has been charged with:

  • 3 x assault with intent to steal armed with weapon
  • 3 x going armed in public

Bail was refused and she is expected to face court at a later date.
