Northern Territory Police have arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly assaulting a police officer in Tennant Creek.
At around 9:00pm on Friday 22 May, police attended a report of people drinking in the street. As police officers were walking back to their vehicle, the 19-year-old allegedly ran towards a police officer and punched him in the face.
The man was arrested for assaulting a police officer. The police officer suffered minor injuries.
The man was charged with assault a member of the police force and was scheduled to appear in Tennant Creek Local Court today.
