Police lay charges - Assault worker in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have charged three people in relation to an incident that occurred in Alice Springs on Saturday morning.

At 3:20am, police received reports of three people causing significant damage to the entry doors at the Alice Springs Hospital Emergency Department and to vehicles parked within the car park. It is alleged the group assaulted hospital staff with blunt weapons at the location before fleeing the scene.

The victims received minor injuries.

Strike Force Viper, general duties and the Dog Operations Unit attended and apprehended the alleged offenders nearby.

The alleged offenders, aged 15, 17 and 23 years have been charged with offences including:

• Damage to property

• Engage in violent conduct

• Assault worker

• Trespass

• Stealing

• Armed with an offensive weapon

They were all remanded to appear in court at a later date.
