The Northern Territory Police Force has charged a 42-year-old man in relation to an assault that occurred in Alice Springs on Wednesday morning.
Around 10:30am, it is alleged the man attempted to enter a licensed premises on Gap Road but was refused entry and directed to leave multiple times by an adult female employee. He allegedly punched the employee twice to the face, causing her to fall to the ground, before leaving the location.
The victim attended hospital for assessment after suffering bruising and swelling.
Police commenced investigations and around 8:50am yesterday morning, the 42-year-old was located and arrested at a residence on South Terrace.
He has since been charged with assaulting a worker and was remanded to appear in the Alice Springs Local Court today.
