The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested and charged a 16-year-old male in relation to domestic violence incident that occurred in Tennant Creek yesterday morning.
Around 8am, it is alleged the male was at a residence on Eldorado Crescent when an argument took place with two adult females known to him.
The offender allegedly physically assaulted one of the females, who was holding a 1-year-old child at the time, causing her to fall to the floor. The second female intervened and removed the child from harm's way.
The 16-year-old allegedly armed himself with a blunt weapon and struck the second female to one of her legs, before physically assaulting her multiple times to the head.
The two adult females suffered minor injuries and were assessed at the scene. The child was uninjured.
The 16-year-old male since has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and remanded in custody to appear in court today.
