The Northern Territory Police Force has charged a 24-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence disturbance that occurred in Alice Springs on Wednesday morning.
It is alleged around 5:30am on Wednesday 15 October, the 24-year-old physically assaulted his female partner while she was holding a toddler at a residence in Gillen. When a female relative attempted to intervene, the offender also physically assaulted her.
The offender subsequently entered his vehicle which was parked outside and drove into the residence, causing substantial damage to the building and vehicle, before fleeing the scene.
The victim and the child were uninjured, and the relative was conveyed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Yesterday, the 24-year-old was located and arrested at a residence on Underdown Street. He has since been charged with:
- 3 x Aggravated Assault
- 3 x Breach DVO
- 1 x Damage to Property
- 1 x Breach Suspended Sentence
- 1 x Drive Vehicle in a Manner Dangerous
He is due to appear in court on 17 October.
