Police lay charges - Driving offences in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have charged a 16-year-old female youth following an incident overnight.

At 11:30pm, the youth drove a vehicle through the Todd Street and Stott Terrace intersection, before colliding with another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle was trapped and had to be extracted by NT Fire and Rescue Service.

Strike Force Viper Investigators arrested the youth and she has since been charged with:

  • Drive unlicensed
  • Drive under the influence of alcohol
  • Enter intersection against red light
  • Drive in a manner dangerous
  • Recklessly endangering life
  • Fail to rescue or provide help and not stop after crash

The youth will appear before court this afternoon.
