Police lay charges over domestic assault - Connells Point

A man has been charged over an alleged domestic-related assault in Sydney's south.

Just before 5am today (Sunday 14 February 2021), police were called to a home on Connells Point Road at Connells Point, following reports of an assault.

Officers from St George Police Area Command attended and located a 27-year-old man with serious injuries to his arms.

It's alleged that man had been involved in an argument with another man and woman in the early hours of the morning.

During the argument the man allegedly assaulted the 26-year-old woman, who is known to him.

He was arrested and taken to St George Hospital for treatment, before being transported under police guard to the Sydney Hospital where he underwent surgery.

After his release from hospital, the man was taken to Kogarah Police Station where he was charged with common assault (DV), destroy or damage property (DV) and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (DV).

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday 17 February 2021.
