Police lay charges over indecent assault in Katherine

Northern Territory Police have charged a man in relation to two indecent assaults in Katherine on 20 October.

Following separate reports from the family of a young girl and an adult woman, police were able to locate a 30-year-old male suspect.

He was subsequently arrested and charged with:

  • Indecent dealing with a child under 16
  • Indecent assault.

He was remanded in custody to appear in Katherine Local Court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant David Hamlyn said, "Police thank the public for their assistance in helping us make a quick arrest in this matter."
