Police lay charges over robbery at Doonside

A man will appear in court today charged over an alleged robbery in a park in Sydney's west.

About 4.30pm on Sunday 24 September 2023, police will allege in court that a 31-year-old man was walking in a reserve on Knox Road, Doonside, when another man punched him in the face and stole his mobile phone, car keys and Kia Sportage SUV.

The 31-year-old man was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.

Following extensive inquiries, a 21-year-old man was arrested at Blacktown Police Station just after 8.30pm yesterday (Monday 16 October 2023).

He was charged with aggravated robbery inflict actual bodily harm and steal motor vehicle.

The Doonside man was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today (Tuesday 17 October 2023).

Inquiries are continuing.
