Police lay charges over sexual touching

A man has been charged over the alleged sexual touching of a woman in Paddington last month.

About 11pm on Friday (28 October 2022), an 18-year-old woman entered a black Toyota Corolla on Glenmore Road in Paddington, mistaking it for a ride-share vehicle she had ordered.

During the journey, the driver allegedly sexually touched her multiple times.

The woman reported the alleged incidents and officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, detectives arrested a 41-year-old man at a home on Acacia Avenue in Greenacre yesterday (Tuesday 8 November 2022).

He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with four counts of sexually touch another person without consent.

The man was given conditional bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Thursday 1 December 2022.

Inquiries continue; detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward.
