Police lay charges - Serious harm at Casuarina

Northern Territory Police have charged a man in relation to a serious harm incident that occurred yesterday in Casuarina.

At around 12:45pm, a 39-year-old man allegedly assaulted another 39-year-old man with an edged weapon near a service station on Trower Road before fleeing the scene. The two men were known to one another.

The victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital in a serious condition and police arrested the alleged offender a short time later.

The alleged offender has since been charged with:

  • Unlawfully cause serious harm
  • Recklessly endangering life
  • Possess carry use controlled weapon
  • Possess schedule 2 drug less than trafficable

He was remanded to appear before Darwin Local Court today.
