Northern Territory Police have arrested and charged a 57-year-old male following alleged sexual offences against a child.
The incident is believed to have occurred on 17 November 2019. It was reported to police the following day.
Detectives from Northern Investigations Section have charged the male with sexual intercourse without consent and indecent dealing with a child under 16 years. He will appear in Katherine Local Court tomorrow.
The child is safe and in the care of her family.
