Police lay charges - Stolen motor vehicle - Channel Island

Northern Territory Police have charged a youth in relation to a vehicle that was stolen earlier this month at Channel Island.

On 23 September 2021, a 16-year-old male allegedly stole a Toyota Utility from a boat ramp at Channel Island.

The alleged offender has then attended a service station in Bakewell on the same day, where he stole a quantity of fuel before fleeing scene.

The vehicle was abandoned later that evening in the Marlow's Lagoon area.

The 16-year-old surrendered himself to police yesterday at the Palmerston Police Station. Strike Force Trident detectives have charged him with:

  • Damage property
  • Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle
  • Stealing
  • Drive whilst unlicensed

He was bailed to appear in court on 4 October 2021.
