Police lay charges - Stolen motor vehicle in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have charged a youth in relation to a stolen motor vehicle in Alice Springs at the weekend.

At around 5:15am on Saturday, a property on Bloomfield Street, Gillen, was unlawfully entered and a Suzuki hatchback was stolen, along with other small items.

A short time later, investigators from Strike Force Viper and Alice Springs General Duties apprehended the vehicle with the use of a tyre deflation device and arrested the 16-year-old male driver in an Alice Springs CBD area.

The youth was charged with:

  • Unlawful use of motor vehicle
  • Possess stolen property

The youth was remanded in custody to appear in court today.
