Police Lay Murder Charges At Belivah

Detectives from Logan Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man following investigations into the deaths of a woman and child at Belivah on 12 March.

Around 7.30am, police were called to a traffic incident on Beaudesert Beenleigh Road at Bannockburn following reports a man had been hit by a vehicle.

It will be alleged the man attended the location after leaving a nearby Belivah address.

Following investigations into the traffic incident, police attended the Belivah address where it will be alleged a 37-year-old woman, and an 11-month-old girl were located deceased.

A 38-year-old Belivah man, who is known to the victims, has been charged with one count each of murder (domestic violence offence) and murder (domestic violence offence against a child).

The man continues to receive medical treatment in hospital and is due to appear via video link at Brisbane Magistrates Court on 18 March.

Investigations remain ongoing.
