Police lay robbery charges at Aitkenvale

Townsville police have charged a man with several offences including two alleged robberies in Aitkenvale on Sunday.

Around 4pm on January 3, at a shopping centre on Ross River Road, it will be alleged a man approached a woman getting into her car and stole her wallet. In a separate incident, he approached a woman and teenage girl in the car park and cash was stolen.

A 36-year-old man from Cranbrook has been charged with attempted enter premises with the intent to commit an indictable offence, common assault, possessing tainted property, robbery, armed robbery and two counts of fraud.

He is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court today (January 7).
