Police Lay Robbery Charges At Helensvale

Police have charged four women following the assault and robbery of an employee at a licensed premise at Helensvale last night, 15 July.

It will be alleged that around 7.35pm, the group attended a business on Sir John Overall Drive, where a staff member was allegedly assaulted before her mobile phone was stolen.

The 41-year-old victim sustained facial injuries.

The group allegedly fled the scene before officers located them a short time later at the Helensvale train station.

A 19-year-old Tweed Heads woman has been charged with one count each of contravene requirement of a police officer and obstruct a police officer.

She is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on 3 August.

A 19-year-old Upper Coomera woman, a 20-year-old Coomera woman, and a 22-year-old Redbank Plains woman have each been charged with one count of robbery in company.

All three are due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on 5 August.

Investigations remain ongoing to locate the fifth person.
