Police Lay Robbery Charges At Runcorn

Police have charged two men following a robbery in Runcorn yesterday, 27 August.

Around 8am three vehicles stopped on Persse Road where it is alleged a physical altercation occurred between the occupants.

It will be further alleged some men from one of the vehicles threatened the other men with a machete, before demanding they hand over several items. When they refused, it is alleged that one of the men bit another man.

Police attended at the time and arrested two men.

A 21-year-old Sunnybank man and a 23-year-old Holland Park man have been charged with one count each of armed robbery in company, two counts each of assault occasionally bodily harm whilst armed, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, unlawful possession of a cat R weapon, offence to buy or possess S4 medicines (Alprazolam) and two counts of possession of dangerous drug.

Both men will appear at the Richlands Magistrates Court today, August 28.

Occupants of the other vehicles sustained minor injuries.
