Police Lay Robbery Charges At Upper Mount Gravatt

Morningside Child Protection and Investigation unit have charged five teenagers following investigations into the robbery of a teen at an Upper Mount Gravatt shopping centre on 20 July.

At approximately 5.05pm it is alleged a group approached a 17-year-old Willawong boy and demanded several personal belongings.

When the boy refused, it is alleged the group assaulted him before fleeing on foot.

Within minutes, responding Tactical Crime Squad and General Duties officers from Upper Mount Gravatt arrested the group at a nearby bus station.

Five teens have been charged with one count of robbery.

A 16-year-old Acacia Ridge boy was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear before Brisbane Childrens Court on July 25.

Three boys from Acacia Ridge, aged 13, 14 and 15-years-old and a 13-year-old Acacia Ridge girl have been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
