Police make arrest after crash - Mentone

Police have arrested a man after a crash in Mentone overnight.

Officers were called to the Nepean Highway at Warrigal Road after reports that an allegedly stolen Nissan Pulsar had crashed into the back of stationary car about 12.40am.

The driver of the Pulsar fled the scene and the Dog Squad was called in to search the area.

After a short search a 27-year-old Warranwood man was found hiding in the front garden of a nearby property.

He was arrested by police and later conveyed to hospital for treatment.

He is expected to be interviewed in relation to a number of offences including theft of motor car and theft from motor car.
