Police have arrested a man following a hit and run traffic crash at Tallebudgera this morning.
Police were called at 6am after a passing motorist located a 68-year-old male cyclist unconscious at the intersection of Dungogie Drive and Tallebudgera Connection Road.
Officers attended the scene where they located the man suffering life-threatening internal and head injuries.
He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
It will be alleged that the cyclist was hit by a vehicle, which did not remain at the scene.
An 18-year-old man voluntarily attended the Palm Beach Police Station around 8am and was subsequently arrested.
A white Toyota dual cab utility has been seized at Worongary.
All roads near the crash site are now reopened.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident.
