Police make arrest - Aggravated robbery at Casuarina 5 July

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to robbery at a shopping centre in Casuarina today.

At around 10:30am, police received reports that a 23-year-old male allegedly used an umbrella to threaten staff and rob a business within the centre, stealing a small quantity of cash. Shopping centre security intervened and the man fled the scene.

Serious Crime detectives arrested the man a short time later in Marrara and he is expected to be charged with one count of aggravated robbery later today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said, "This individual has caused a significant amount of stress to employees and shoppers.

"We would like to commend the members of public who contacted police which allowed us to apprehend this individual quickly."
