Police make arrest - Aggravated robbery in Alice Springs

A man who was wanted in relation to an aggravated robbery in Alice Springs last weekend, was today arrested by members of Strike Force Viper.

It will be alleged the 18 year old was one of five offenders who physically assaulted an 18-year-old male victim walking along Gap Road in the early hours of Sunday 4 April.

Members of Strike Force Viper swooped and arrested the offender who was observed in the Alice Springs CBD area at lunchtime today.

The man is expected to be charged with one count each of Aggravated Robbery, Obtain benefit by deception and Possession of Dangerous drug.

The man will also face charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a motor vehicle and Obtain benefit by deception, in relation to a separate incident involving a stolen motor vehicle and stolen credit cards in mid March.
