Police make arrest - Aggravated robbery - Malak

Serious Crime detectives have arrested a man in relation to an Aggravated Robbery that occurred over the weekend.

Around 7:50pm, a 70-year-old woman had exited the bus on Dalwood Crescent when she was approached by an unknown Aboriginal man.

It is alleged that the man grabbed her bag resulting in a struggle between the two, before the man stole the woman's bags and fled the scene. Thankfully, the woman was uninjured.

Detectives conducted inquiries into the incident and arrested the 25-year-old man in Casuarina this morning.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier thanked members of the public and Casuarina Square security for their assistance in tracking down the man.

"The cowardly actions of this man attacking a 70-year-old victim who was heading home is disgusting. Police will continue to do everything in their power to bring these types of criminal acts to justice."

The man is expected to be charged later today with Aggravated Robbery.
