Police make arrest - Assault in Alice Springs 31 July

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an incident in which a security guard was physically assaulted outside a store in Alice Springs yesterday.

The security guard denied the man entry into the store on Bath Street when it is alleged the man became aggressive, pulled out a sharp object and attempted to stab the guard.

The security guard received injuries to his upper arm before the offender ran off towards Stuart Terrace where he was located by police and arrested.

The man was charged with one count each of Possess, Carry or Use Controlled Weapon and Assault a person who suffers harm. He has been bailed to appear before the Alice Springs Local Court on August 18, 2020.
